The purpose of the ACEL NextGen initiative is to connect with and give voice to early career educators from across sectors and systems in Australia. Through our conference focus on Reimagining Education, A Future Beyond Boundaries, we are looking forward to the timely insights of this group of professionals who are representing and leading for our future.

Last year we welcomed our first cohort of NextGen participants to ACEL. As part of our upcoming ACEL National Conference being held in Adelaide from 30 September – 2 October , we are delighted to welcome our second cohort and warmly invite you to express interest in being part of the conversation. We value the incredible work that you are doing now and want you to contribute to our future as a profession.

Not only will you have the opportunity to reimagine education by sharing your expertise and thinking, but we are also delighted to offer free conference registration to selected NextGen participants.

If selected, you will participate in conversations with our ACEL President Briony Scott and CEO Dr Barbara Watterston and members of the 2023 NextGen cohort and our New Voice Scholars as well as providing ongoing input across all 3 days of the conference.

Please nominate to be a vital part of ACEL’s future by responding to these questions:

  • Q1. What achievements are you most proud of in your current role and why?
  • Q2. How do you reimagine education now and in the future?
  • Q3. What is one thing we can do now to make a change you want to see? How would you like to contribute to this?
  • Q4. How do you flourish and thrive as a leader but still manage your health and wellbeing?

We will also ask you to share some demographic information and 2 referees to support us in selecting a diverse group of NextGen participants.

No more than 200 words per question required! Please share your responses here by 5pm on Wednesday 12 June. We will notify you of the outcome by late June so that you have plenty of time to arrange your travel and accommodation if required.
