NOAH M.

Year 9 Student, St Andrew's Anglican College, Sunshine Coast, QLD Noah M., a Year 9 student at St Andrew's Anglican College, is brimming with passion and excitement for technology. His foray into app development and coding was ignited in 2022, thanks to a co-curricular program at St Andrew’s initiated by Apple Australia's education team and spearheaded by Professor Daniel Woo from the University of NSW. This unique opportunity allowed Noah to not only sharpen his coding skills but also to apply design thinking to solve real-world problems, making his technological solutions both innovative and user-friendly.

In 2023, Noah took the plunge into the global Student Apple Developers competition with his first application, DigiCare. Drawing inspiration from his grandfather's battle with Parkinson's disease, DigiCare aims to simplify the often-complicated medication schedules for those suffering from chronic illnesses. The app also offers a platform for carers and patients to monitor side effects and other essential data. His work on this project earned him recognition from Apple's leadership teams in both Australia and the U.S. Noah, along with 14 other standout students from around the country, was invited to Apple's Sydney headquarters to celebrate their achievements and participate in workshops with some of Apple's leading minds and creators of world-class technologies.

Alongside his best mate and 'business partner,' Oscar, Noah was accepted into the inaugural Artificial Intelligence cadetship at the Noosa digital hub. Within this program, the pair are diligently working on a machine-learning model designed to convert sign language into text. Their combined skills in app development and machine learning have already caught the attention of local start-ups and entrepreneurs, leading to offers of paid work.

For fun, Noah plays trumpet in several of the St Andrew’s music groups and also founded "Fred Brown," a tongue-in-cheek drop shipping start-up that took a playful jab at the overpriced Frank Green water bottle trend sweeping Australian schools. Although Fred Brown was short-lived, the venture taught him valuable lessons and reinforced his desire to focus on technology.

Recently, Noah began giving back to his local community on the Sunshine Coast by running workshops for budding young app developers. As he continues to explore the ever-evolving landscape of technology, Noah is keen to build a long and fulfilling career in the tech industry.
